Beard Trimmer Review

Using an Electric Beard Trimmer to Be Fashionable

Once you’ve decided that growing a beard is what you want to do, and then keeping it looking neat will probably mean the use of an electric beard trimmer. After all, a beard that looks like a collection of birds’ nests glued together is not going to do much for your image at home or at work. Beard maintenance in the form of shaping and trimming is not to be neglected, and if handled properly can allow you to develop your beard into a true fashion accessory.

Note that a beard trimmer can work wonders, but cannot perform miracles. Growing a beard still means having enough hair on your face to work with. If you have even growth in your beard and mustache, then a beard trimmer will be appropriate. If however your beard grows very irregularly, for example in some places but not in others on your face, then you might want to reconsider the idea of growing a beard in the first place.

Your beard trimmer whether plugged into the wall or used as a cordless unit, is probably a tool that you will want to use a little while after you start growing your beard. The reason is to give yourself a little time to understand how your beard grows, and what will be the best way to shape and trim it. Note that trimming a beard is somewhat like shortening the legs on a coffee table: if you’re not careful, you’ll keep taking a little bit off one side and then off the other until there’s nothing left.

You can select your electric beard trimmer from a range of different models. Electric trimmers that plug directly into the wall and use a power cord may well be a little less expensive than the others. As they do not necessitate any components to hold or to recharge internal batteries, the manufacturers often pass on the cost savings to the customer.

The alternative is a battery operated or cordless electric trimmer. These have the significant advantage of not needing to be close to a power socket when you want to use them. From a safety point of view, they are also to be preferred in the bathroom as anything that avoids electrical connection near water is a good idea.

So now it’s time to put your trimmer to use. Remember first of all to select the length setting, which is most appropriate to the effect that you want. A long length setting will let you trim the extremities of your beard whereas a short setting will allow you to crop it very short perhaps leaving just stubble instead. Decide first of all what you want and then apply your beard trimmer to get the effects. If you find that you are not getting the results that you want, take a minute to understand what is going wrong. Often, you can still complete the trim with an electric beard trimmer to get a look that you are happy with.
